Course description This course provides description and operation information applicable to line maintenance activities as outlined by the appropriate Operation and Maintenance manual. Exposure to relevant inspection techniques, special tooling, engine specific procedures and maintenance publications will be provided in classroom and laboratory environments.
Course material relating to engine design features and method of operation will be presented using the Rolls-Royce computer based training (CBT) system.
Course objectives Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to:
• Recall the safety precautions observed working on
or near the engine and Identify locations of
• Describe the normal function of each major system,
• Recall procedures for carrying out significant tasks
associated with routine servicing of the engine and
• Recall and perform procedures for replacement of
principle components using approved technical
• Recall and perform inspection procedures to
determine the internal condition and serviceability
of the engine.
Target population Recommended for personnel performing line maintenance tasks.
Duration Five (5) days
Training methods 11 hours of CBT and 22 hours of lecture/lab
Daily schedule 0800-1600 (EST)

NOTE: The Honeywell fuel system is the only fuel system covered in this course.
Student training can be tailored to any one of the following engines:
• M250-C20B, C, F, J, R and W
• M250-B17 "all" (with Registrar approval)
• M250-KS4 (Navy)
