    Course description

    This course provides description and operation information applicable to line maintenance activities as outlined by the appropriate Operation and Maintenance manual. Exposure to relevant inspection techniques, special tooling, engine specific procedures and maintenance publications will be provided in classroom and laboratory environments. Course material relating to engine design features and method of operation will be presented using the Rolls-Royce computer based training (CBT) system.

    Course objectives

    Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to…
    •Recall the safety precautions observed working on or near the engine and Identify locations of principle components,
    •Describe the normal function of each major system,
    •Recall procedures for carrying out significant tasks associated with routine servicing of the engine and its systems,
    •Recall and perform procedures for replacement of principle components using approved technical data,
    •Recall and perform inspection procedures to determine the internal condition and serviceability of the engine.

    Target population

    Recommended for personnel performing line maintenance tasks.

    11 hours of CBT and 22 hours of lecture/lab

    NOTE: Students will be scheduled in this training program concurrent with a Rolls-Royce M250/T63 Series II course. Arrangements must be made in advance with the Registrar. Students will be required to attend approximately 2-3 additional hours of training time to cover turboprop specific topics.
